Hwy 41 @ Friendly Freds

Pearl River, LouisianaMar 10, 20111 Comments

PRPD will sit on the shoulder just inside the city limits facing in coming traffic. Also they like to sit around the Curve before the red light at Pine St.

You will sometimes see La. State Troopers sitting at the VFW under the Oak Trees.

Comments:
The above post is 100% correct. PRPD will sit just past the street lights of Friendly Fred's gas station in the dark on the shoulder of the road with all there lights out. PRPD frequents this spot during the weekday morning hours looking for speeding commuters on there way to work. So be careful and make sure you slow down to 45 before the you pass the baseball fields headed into Pearl River. Also if there not sitting there they will be sitting at one of there alternate speed traps on LA-41 spur just across from the Sheriff's station in Pearl River. So they can radar you where the speed limit drops from 45MPH to 25MPH. This is just an observation but I noticed that on almost all the roads leading into Pearl River the speed limits are reduced in curves. I wonder how much of PRPD's budget is generated and maintained by speeding tickets.
