Hwy 43-between Greenville and Vanceboro

Greenville, North CarolinaAug 19, 20022 Comments

Do not even consider speeding on this road. They will get you going to the beach or at least New Bern and they don’t care about an excuses. I had just passed someone going 42 in a 55 and got pulled not long after passing them. Marked and unmarked cars, mainly Craven County but both Pitt and Craven County Highway Patrol keep this road hot. It is rare that you travel this stretch and NOT see a patrolman. And would have thought I had gotten a DWI with all the Craven County lawyer letters I received. Luckily I am not a chronic speeder and if I stay clean for another year my insurance will not go up.

Comments:
The area from Mills Road to Fire Tower both on Hwy 43 is constantly patrolled from 4:00 p.m. each evening until 2:30 a.m. or so. Holidays usually have Highway Patrolmen working in mutiples.

Right in the middle of Vanceboro the speed limit changes fron 35 to 25 in just a matter of a few blocks. But I don't think its a speed trap. There are signs letting you know of a limit change.
