I totally agree don't speed save your money and gas and save our citizens from people who only care for them selves and no one else.

This comment is to all who really have no idea what a speed trap is. A speed trap is an area where there is a higher speed limit and then it drops down thru an area of a town or city and then goes back up to the higher speed. The City of Garrett is always referred to as a speed trap. if the people driving north bound and south bound on I45 would actually take there heads out of their rear ends and pay attention they would see that the speed limit never changes thru Ellis County along I45. If you are traveling north bound say from Houston, when you come to the Navarro county - Ellis county line at the 244 mile marker, the speed limit turns from 75 to 65. then when you come to the 267 mile marker at the Ellis county - Dallas county line the speed limit changes from 65 to 60 miles per hour. The City of Garrett, which does have jurisdiction on I45 due to the city limits covering a little over 1 mile of I45 located from the around the 255 mile marker to the around the 256 mile marker. So how can the City of Garrett be a speed trap when the speed limit changes about 11 miles north and 11 miles south of the City of Garrett. It would appear that the problem is not the City of Garrett but the drivers who don't pay attention or don't care about the speed limit until they get a ticket and then want to blame everyone but themselves. Now to cover the issue with the drive in, when traveling south bound and exiting at the 255 mile marker, there are 2 clearly visible signs for no right turn off the ramp and every day numerous people decide to make a right turn. The problem there is there is not enough room to make the turn with out driving into the left lane and coming head on into the south bound lanes with on coming traffic. There have been several accidents due to this. Also when people leave the drive in late at night, for some reason they feel there is no need to stop at those big red signs that clearly state STOP. So in closing, pay attention to the traffic signs and obey the traffic laws and you wont have any problems in Garrett or any other city around the us for that matter.
