Hwy 49 northbound upon exiting Sonora downtown.

Leaving Sonora downtown on Hwy 49 heading north, you go down a small hill and curve to the right. It is easy to pick up speed, especially since it feels like you are leaving the commercial area. But the speed limit is still 25 mph there. Sonora police will park at the bottom. By the time you see the patrol car, it’s too late.

Comments:
If you are heading north coming out of town, you are in a School Zone. The 25 MPH speed limit doesn't change when the kids are not present. Either down-shift or use your brakes. That's how to avoid gaining speed (and a ticket). Watch for people in the crosswalk at the flashing light also. (By the way there is no curve there.)

Yeah I got a ticket there today. I am going to hold a sign ~4ft X 6ft tomorrow or after rain stops that says in big clear letters "Blatant Speed Trap Ahead" I just researched the law and I should be ok as long as I don't say slow down or stop I saw recently in Oregon someone got fined ~100 dollars for that but either way fine or not I will be on top of that hill for a many many days. Or until I get mentioned in their pathetic local news paper. Hello my name is Joshua Bell Hutchinson and I like to fuck wth corrupt organizations systems or people. Speed traps make me sick and this one takes the cake. HELLO SONORA, CA
