Hwy 5 at Dog River Bridge
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will often sit on this bridge running radar, usually in attempts to catch northbound traffic (limit 55 mph). A few contributing factors: the area is wooded, roadway is merging from four to two lanes, the approach is around a bend and downhill. Depending upon where they sit, the stop is often illegal (as they are required to be in clear view within 500 ft and the actual distance is approx 350 to 400 feet- I measured from the curve), but good luck proving it.
