Hwy 5 near Black’s Peaches and Windy Hill Apple

York, South CarolinaMay 19, 20102 Comments

Though the majority of travel on Hwy 5 is 55mph, from the stoplight where Hwy 5 turns to just past the apple orchard is 45mph. They know most people are rolling about 60, if not faster. I’m yet to figure out where they hide, but they randomly sit on this stretch any day of the week, any time. College students traveling to I-85 beware!

This is not a speed trap. Drivers simply need to pay attention to the speed limits and follow them. There are several small businesses and side roads in this area which is the reason for the speed limit to drop. If you're going "60 OR better" when you get to this area you deserve a ticket since you're already breaking the law.

Not a trap. Speed limit signs are posted for a reason. They are not there for a reference point but for the laws to be obeyed.
