School Crossing – on a Four Lane Highway. (I’m 75 and have never seen a school crossing on a four lane highway in my life)

Located on (North / South section of ) ( Hwy 67 – 1st E. ) which is 5 blks. South of I 280 or 3 blks South of W. & E, 10 Ave. which is also Andalusia. Rd.

The actual school crossing is at West 12 th Ave across Hwy 67 to 12th Ave East which is TWO blks South of 10th Ave.

The school crossing has a abrupt speed reduction.

Going N.Hwy 67 (four lanes) speed is 55 then 50mph.. then speed drops to 45 mph. About 250 feet before the crossing there is a PED Sign. Then another sign about 100′. Then the crossing which has a sign in the center median with a small 3" yellow flashing light.

You are on the sign before you even realize it’s there and don’t expect to have a Ped crossing on a four lane Hwy. My opinion there should be a FOOT policeman helping children cross.
I have never in my life seen a school crossing on a four lane highway and think this crossing is an extreme hazard for children and should have a stoplight. It is also a Milan MONEY MAKER

I got a $120 ticket with no children present. I have traveled this Hwy a few times in the past and have seen a police car w a stopped car. I never associated the police activity with this Sign but it probably was in every case.
