Cop sitting at 50 mph speed limit sign east of town. I was stopped for going 56 in a 40 zone. $220. I admitted to the speed but told him we were searching for our 91yr old aunt missing from Shreveport for 4 hrs. We were searching along Hwy 80, the only route to our house near Waskom. He did not reply at all. I asked if he knew of any accidents nearby. His reply was ” no, but you were going to have one going 56 mph!” She was found 11 hrs later 65 miles from home, confused, but safe. Thanks to 5 agencies, NOT Waskom. I was going to complain about lack of assistance, but the cop was the Asst. Chief!
