Hwy 85A

Contract sheriff deputies setup on Hwy 85A through town; most often they hide on the west side of the Horse Creek bridge, in the Bank of the Lakes parking lot, and along Hwy 85A near Jerry’s Dock.

If ticketed, keep receipt of ticket and payment. A class action lawsuit is likely to be filed soon. Deputies are issuing, and the municipal court is collecting, fines above the amount authorized by town code.

Comments:
The bridge seems to be a magical place. I have seat in court several times and most often the violation has taken place on the bridge. I know I was not speeding, rather sunday driving. I cannot prove it so it is he said she said and the town folk always win. People need to video their dash when driving over bridge so the speed trap can be taken on. I feel certain that a great deal of the traffic tickets given are not based on actual rule violation. Having video is the only way you can beat the ticket. The traffic ticket is not being issued to correct a behavior, rather to collect revenue. The town is not playing by the same rules as us. I would be happy to help any person with legal action today, tomorrow or 5 years from now. e mail bernicetakeaction@gmail.com
