Just south of exit 25 (Hamilton) GHP and Harris County Sheriff’s Dept. sit in the median at least twice daily, hidden by a long row of bushes. Their vehicles face both directions. They are there every morning and afternoon during the “rush hour” to and from Columbus, GA. During Spring break and other beach travel holidays, they are really out in force. Several times a year, especially Spring, a roadblock is set up just after the Smith Rd exit 10, when it’s too late to get off the Interstate. All “suspicious” looking individuals headed to Panama City Beach are searched for illegal substances.
