I-20 East

The City of Atlanta has reduced the speed limit to 50 mph just a few miles before the MLK exit. There is the same officer there every day during rush hour to deliver citations. This is clearly a revenue scheme by the Atlanta Police Department, the City of Atlanta, and it’s municipal court.

Comments:
Atlanta native. Never been ticketed in Atlanta. This is not a speed trap. Police and state patrol are only enforcing the law. In the 50 mile per hour speed zone, you don't get tickets for going 5 or 10 miles per hour over the speed limit. You get them for going over 70. When would you prefer they start writing tickets? After you're caught going over 80? Don't get caught going over 70 at Holmes Blvd. There has always been a cop stationed there with a radar gun. If you get caught going 70 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone, how is that a speed trap?
