I-20, west of the city
The speed limit on many Texas highways is now 75. The speed limit on I-20 within Weatherford city, proper, is 65. That speed may well be justified due to the traffic. The 65-mph speed limit remains in place after leaving the city, but still in Parker County. The traffic is light; the environment is rural. The speed limit should be 75. A traffic cop is in place at that point, collecting fines.

I20 west out of Weatherford Texas stays 65 mph for about 15 miles after leaving town in very rural conditions. I drive that route twice a month and have seen a vehicle pulled over in eyesight of the sign posting the increased speed to 75 mph 5 of my last 6 trips. It is clearly a speed trap, especially if you consider that the speed limit stays at 75 mph through Abilene where traffic is heavy. There should be a way to stop what is tantamount to highway robbery!
