I-40 thru the city limits
Instead of writing tickets for speeding, the officer will cite drivers for “Negligent and Irresponsible Driving.” This allows the city to forgo the maximum speeding fine for first time offenders from less than $100 and charge $190 for the fine. They claim the benefit to the offender is this type of ticket will not incur points on your driving record that will result in higher insurance rates.
Isn’t this unethical as well as illegal?
