I-59 Mileposts 94-98, especially between 16th Ave (Exit 95A-B) and 4th Ave/Masonite Rd (Exit 96A)
The speed limit through Laurel is just 50 MPH because of the multiple exits crammed into such a short space. If that wasn’t bad enough, the speed limit drops to 40 going in to the tight S-curve in the middle of Exit 95C. Heading north, cops sit in the grass on the shoulder between the left curve and the right curve, waiting for someone to do a reasonable speed, like 50, in the 40 MPH zone. City leaders in the 50’s and 60’s wanted the interstate built like this to show off downtown Laurel and to avoid building a bridge over a lake east of town. Gee, thanks.
