I-70 Eastbound, East of Exit 254 (Genesee)
At exit 254 the speed limit drops from 65 to 55. That is the beginning of a 6% downhill grade. The highway patrol regularly enforces this with teams of as many as four cars, some of which are unmarked. They often have a radar unit on the overpass at exit 256. If you pass one patrol car, don’t assume you are home free- there will be more. Jefferson County Sheriff also is also active in this area.

A few months ago "they" inexplicably raised the speed limit from 55 to 65 for cars, and from 35 to 45 for trucks down this 5 mile long hill. It had been 55 here since the NMSL. I had always felt it created a dangerous situation when trying to maintain the speed limit down this hill and holding up the natural flow of traffic whizzing by me. The CSP would watch from above with helicopters and half the time there was a string of 5-6 state patrol cars waiting at the bottom.
Now that they have raised the speed limit to 65 mph, traffic flows much more smoothly at a uniform "just under 70", and trucks don't have to burn out their brakes down the hill. I applaud the CDOT for their common sense in raising this speed limit. The speed trap at the bottom of the hill seems less frequent because the majority of traffic is allowed a more reasonable speed.
