I 75 North & South in Crisp County

Crisp County, GeorgiaDec 31, 20102 Comments

Crisp County a small rural county has a “Traffic Unit” that constantly works I-75. Currently there is a “construction zone” that has three open lanes and no construction activity on site, but cars are routinely pulled over and ticketed in this “zone.” Beware and drive at least 5 MPH under the speed limit in Crisp County. If you can avoid it don’t spend any tourist or traffic money in Crisp County.

YOU ARE CORRECT. SHERIFF'S WEB SITE BOASTS WRITING 6,419 TICKETS IN 2010 IN A COUNTY OF ONLY 22,000 PEOPLE WHICH RANKS CRISP COUNTY NUMBER 43 OF 155 COUNTIES IRRESPECTIVE OF SIZE. OF THE 43, WHEN ADJUSTING FOR SIZE, ONLY 3 COUNTIES HAVE WRITTEN MORE TICKETS. DEPUTIES PERCH ON OVERHEAD BRIDGE AT CORDELE EXIT MILE MARKER 104.

This is 100% correct. I was actually passed by a speeding vehicle but they pulled me over. I was so mad I drove straight to the Sheriffs Dept and complained to the supposedly head honcho. I insisted they give me and the officer a polygraph to determine if the officer was 100% sure I was the speeding car. At first he agreed until he stated it would be $500 and I agreed to pay the fee. He then stated "well it wont change anything". He said he wasn't going to void the ticket even if I passed the polygraph and his officer failed. He was even arrogant enough to laugh at the situation. I told both of them it was now a matter of principle. Not only would I be traveling 7 hrs to fight the ticket but to go after the cops job as well. Its amazing to me that there is proof that this is a scam construction zone and yet the city has done nothing to change its policies on ticketing this speed trap. Rest assured I will NOT be dropping this case.
