I-75 South

Stockbridge, GeorgiaDec 22, 20091 Comments

The Henry County Police wait in the median just over the hill after the I-75 and I-675 merge and before the incline to Eagles Landing Blvd. Georgia State laws prevent any law enforcement agency other than the state patrol to issue radar based speeding tickets on an incline more than 7%. This downward slope is more than 10%! Most people are unaware of the law and just go ahead and pay the fine so the Henry Police keep violating state law to raise funds for the county.

Comments:
If anyone has a simple method to accurately measure the 7% incline on a roadway, please post it here. I went to court with this as my defense and was ridiculed by the judge and she just said that the state says that it is not over 7% degrees. My use of a rectangular container with water levels recorded when placed on the flat surface in my pickup truck bed while parked on the hill and measured with a potractor was not sufficient. My measurement was 8 or 9 degrees.
