I-80 and Idaho (main drag through city of elko)
NHP uses elko for training for the north east part of the state. The speed limit drops to 65 Mph through elko on I-80 and there is usually an NHP officer out on just that stretch all the time. Idaho street in the city of elko changes from 35 to 25 so many times it’s not funny. It is a major revenue maker for the city. Just drive the whole thing 25, or one of the sneaky signs will get you.

Lets see, you get off I-80 to speed limit of 35, travel to stop light at 15 St. and change to 25 mph, travel thru town at 25 mph till you get to 1 st, changes to 35 mph and stays at 35 until you get on I-80 or Highway 40. Doesn't sound like it changes very much to me....
Strange thing is that I live in Elko, and have rarely seen a car stopped on Idaho st.
The City Police are too short handed and to busy to do much traffic patrol. As far as I know, the city officers do not have a quota, and unless you are a smart alec or a DUI or accident are involved, you will probably get a warning.
