I-85N and I-85S Exit 13 thru 21
The area is 2 lane for approximately one mile and is posted 55 mph and construction work zone. At the end of this,the road opens up to 3 new lanes with a median wall between north and south lanes. But guess what the speed limit stays 55 til mile marker 22 and it changes to 60 0nly. The NC Highway Patrol AND the Gastonia Police Dept. both work the area extensively. A speed in excess of 80 could result in a trip to the magistrates.

I DON'T KNOW THE LAST TIME YOU WERE THROUGH THERE BUT THERE ARE 3 LANES NORTH AND SOUTH. THE CONSTRUCTION HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR YEARS. THERE IS NOT A MEDIAN, A CONCRETE WALL NOT SEPERATES THE NORTH AND SOUTH BOUND LANES. THE SPPEDD LIMIT IS 60 MPH NORTH BOUND FROM THE 17 UNTIL YOU GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF CHARLOTTE. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 IN THE SOUTH BOUND LANE AFTER YOU PASS THE 17 AND 65 TILL YOU GET TO THE NORTH BOUND AT THE 17. ANY SPEED ABOVE 15 OVER IN A 55 ZONE IS MANTORY TRIP TO THE MAGISTARTE BY NC LAW.
