I-87 at (and around) exit 24 – Beware of very clever spot

Bolton, New YorkOct 09, 20030 Comments

The officer parks very cleverly on top of the onramp from exit 24 (Bolton Landing). This locates the car very far from the travelled road, thus not visible, yet it offers him excellent visibility on the road since it’s one of these onramps that start from a higher road and go down on the I-87 (it’s like a lookout), so it even provides an excellent acceleration ramp for the officer to start chasing cars. He just catches you when you appear from under the bridge. While the No-u-turn middle sections may be very easy to spot in advance, that kind of hideout must be known to be avoided. The area between Albany and Lake George, in general, is a well-known fundraiser for local policemen. Beware!
