I-91 N Bound at U-Turn N of Exit 11

White River Junction, VermontMay 14, 20022 Comments

While speed limit for most of I-91 is 65, there is ashort section here posted at 55 mph. While there are Reduced speed ahead signs, I missed them. They seem to let the Vermonters by at 75 but not out-of-staters. Call it revenue enhancement.

Comments:
ALL "Out-of-staters" are revenue targets in Vermont. Summer & Fall is quite the "windfall" in "leafer revenue". Mass, CT, & NY plates are always a quick pay target year around, but RV's, Campers, Buses, anything south of, or west of NY is doomed to be caught for something before leaving New England.

Vermont clearly is willing to trade large tourist revenues for small speeding revenues. Last time I left VT, it was for the last time. How is this good for VT revenue? Speed police hiding in the dark, aggressive selective enforcement of out of staters, it all adds up to stay out of Vermont.
