Patrol car sits in medium to be accessible to West & East moving traffic. I-94 takes you directly to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. It is very easy to pick off cars when people are running late to catch a plane or to pick someone up. Also, it is accessible to several major companies, Ford Motors for one. I-94 East going to Southfield Rd. is congestion junction because the Southfield Rd. exit forks off into several directions so if traffic is heavy and you’re caught in the right lane and need to get off on Southfield Rd. North, which is to the left of I-94 you have to speed up to get around traffic and this is when the police pounce. Because of the way the exit is made if you miss it you have to drive several miles out of your way to get back to the correct exit so there is an incentive to push it a little if you need to. Another well know speed trap is on the other side of the Southfield Rd. exit, Lincoln Park, Mi so it’s a very tricky area.
