Posted limit on the section of Interstate 35E is 45mph. Most traffic moves at 55 to 60. This section of freeway is controversial because the limit is low to supposedly reduce traffic noise. Most recently, the limit has been sustained in the face of citizen protest. Moving at 45mph means one travels slower than 95% of the traffic until traffic enforcement shows up with radar devices. The stretch of road affected is approximately 5 miles and the road is fully capable of 65mph.
