In between the Allsups store and the 55 mph sign.

There is an officer waiting right by the 55 MPH sign. If you are going 1 mile per hour over 40MPH before you pass the 55 sign you get a ticket. It is deceptive, bullying and wrong.

This is a perfect example of Texas speed trap. My wife and I had stopped at the Allsups and pulled back onto Hwy 15. We were not sure we were even on the correct highway. This section looks like you are already out of Gruver. By the time you cross Cooper street it looks like are completely out of town. I missed the 40mph sign. Thinking it was 55, that was what I was going when Gruver's finest pulled us over. We are not from the State of Texas so you know for sure we got a citation. First time I've been cited by a Skoal dipping cowboy wannabe. No discussion, no warning. Might as well have just pulled out my wallet and gave the cop all my cash, hard to fight a ticket when you live 15 hours away. Was I in the wrong? Yes, did I know it, absolutely not. And even though I haven't had a citation in over 20 years, Barney didn't care. Cost 154.10! Guess Gruver is lacking funds. So, like Jaron Wood's song says "I'll pray for Gruver especially their cops.

This is very funny to me!! I have been through there many times and have yet to be pulled over. Now if you are speeding then you cant complain about a person doing there job. However the speed limit signs are clearly marked and there is even a sign stating that this particular area is radar enforced. Can't get much clearer then that... Oh and from someone that is out of town you sure do know the street names pretty well ;) LOL!!
