In the Median on Rt. 30
Very often, throughout the week the city of De Witt police are setting in the median on Rt. 30 which is technically “in their jurisdiction”. They will be there at all hours and will set without parking lights on at night….isn’t that illegal? In addition to setting on Rt. 30, they also do the same thing on Hwy 61. Both of these are 4 lane minimum access highways.

Well, if you're speeding, you should get a ticket. Why not let them sit with lights off?! Good grief, we're so ready to say 'entrapment' that the cops don't have a chance. I was raised to respect the law and officers. Yes, I do speed and yes I recently got caught, the first time in yearsssss (since I had been caught...ha ha). I was doing about 74 in a 55 on a 2-lane road. I was upset with my boyfriend, Bill & was heading down to his place to talk to him. (I was going a LOT FASTER just before he tagged me but I slowed down for this wicked curve. He was nice enough to reduce it to only '5 mph over', after he checked me out thoroughly with his office. I no longer speed (maybe 2-3 over...which is 'still' speeding). I'm in my 60's (just FYI). Whenever I get the 'urge' to speed, I think about the ticket that I COULD have gotten. JudyK, Iowa
