In/around bridge construction on Highway 72 Hillsboro, AL

The new, unmarked white SUV will cruise east and west along highway 72 in the city of Hillsboro, Alabama about 10 or 15 miles each way in a rolling, radar activated speed trap. There is bridge construction, that seldom occurs, along this route where the speed rapidly reduces from 65 to 45. The Hillsboro police has, and will, ticket anyone 5 or more over the limit. I have seen FedEx, UPS, locals, semis and farm trucks stopped, but mostly very nice cars like BMW’s, Caddy’s, Corvette’s, Jag’s and Audi’s given tickets frequently. How do I know? I live in nearby Decatur Alabama, and pass there often, everyone here knows that the town has a population of about 500 and that this is a major revenue source for Hillsboro and Lawrence County. They have been targeting speeding drivers there for more than a decade. If you have a really nice automobile, then slow down along 72 west of Decatur because they are watching and waiting for easy revenue. About $250 to start for 1 mile over to $300 + for 25 or more. Also, there is a standing “No excuse” policy and they WILL tack on additional charges if they can find anything else to write up. You have been warned…
