Interstate 10 near Mile Marker 716

Sealy, TexasMar 28, 20061 Comments

A city police car is running up and down about a 5-mile stretch of I10, cutting across the median to make U-turns, and reentering the 70 mph traffic, causing concern for people as they are coming up on him, especially at night, but also during the day. People are given tickets for 10 mph over the 70 mph limit even when they are not going that fast, but you cannot prove you were not going that fast. So…

Comments:
I live in Sealy. Troopers cannot cross over the median anymore. Last year TXDOT as placed guard rails in the median that strech from the Brozos River on the east side of Austin County and continues on past Sealy to at least the Pyka Rd exit. However, troopers, sherrifs, and cops do occationally try to hide behind overpasses and on the service roads on either side. They dont do this very often; but it does happen. Also, the truck stop at Pyka Rd. is a favorite place for their donut stops. Austin county sherriff's office has a new Dodge Challenger that is almost unmarked and has not lights. I have seen it many times. You can barely see the word Sherrif painted on the side in a semi clear paint. It does have a spot light in the normal location.
