Interstate 279 near US Highway 19 Perry Highway at Cemetary Lane

This one takes the cake. About a week ago, our crafty friends from the Pennsylvania State Police, enacted a huge traffic sting on I-279 in Ross Township. A good friend of mine observed this while on his way to work nearby. On the Cemetary Lane overpass (Perrysville Exit) there was a white pickup truck staged to look as if it brokedown. There was NO marked vehicle near the truck, which is why this is illegal. Inside was a State Trooper clocking traffic down below. On the ramps (not sure if it was inbound or outbound or both – most likely outbound) there were about ten cruisers lined up and upon radio reception and description of the violators, the cops would each take turns on their unsuspecting victims. BE CAREFUL. If you were caught in this trap, FIGHT the ticket. This type of activity is ILLEGAL. Recently, the PA State boys think that they can pose in PennDOT trucks or other such vehicles such as personal civilian cars to run speed traps. Wrong. They’ve been put in their place about this before by the courts. They also think that they can dress in camaflouge and hide in the woods with wireless radar guns. WRONG as well. To avoid the hastle, watch your speed at any ramp and overpass on I-279 (especially near Perrysville and Bellevue/West View) and if you get pulled over, admit to nothing and exercise your right to FIGHT the ticket.
