Interstate 355 near 290 to I-55

I-355 is one of the most heavily patrolled expressways in the Chicago area. Starting from I-290, you will see troopers in the turnarounds and on the ramps before the Army Trail Toll Plaza. Also, you will see some cops around the toll plaza itself because they are clocking people going through the I-Pass lanes.

After that, you may periodically see troopers on ramps or rolling patrol. However, the "red zone" is from Roosevelt Road to Ogden. Part of the reason for this is the District 15 headquarters is at Ogden and I-355 near the Illinois Tollway Building. The area to watch out in this stretch is between I-88 and Ogden. Troopers will use cutouts and bridge abutments to their advantage. There is one cutout after the tunnel that I have seen troopers use with much success. I have also seen a trooper radaring traffic under the I-88 ramps. Also, they use a cadre of unmarked cars in that stretch. I have seen 2 silver GTPs, white and red Mustangs, a green Z28, and the usual unmarked cars patrolling or radaring in that area.

After Ogden, you are liable to see the troopers on the ramps or side of the road. Troopers will patrol the Boughton cash box the same as they would the Army Trail Cashbox.
