This area on IH-37 has recently become a total money-making speed trap for this area. I travel frequently through area and I always see DPS citing motorists. I always notice the two or three DPS vehicles assigned to the area and they are always on the hunt. I am always careful in area, but recently I was also a casualty of these DPS. I was cited for doing 72 on a 65mph area that had a posted speed limit of 70mph just before the sun went down @30minutes prior. This was my first citation in @20yrs and still no warning, and the deffered adjudication total asked for is a hefty $285! Judges’ staff contacted was rude and only interested in getting some money. I thought one was innocent until proven guilty, but I guess not when it comes to moving citations in this area. Total speed trap.
