Interstate 40 near Between Barstow and Needles

San Bernardino, CaliforniaJun 20, 20061 Comments

Several "Construction Zones" East and West bound, where nobody seems to be working at anytime of the day or night for two weeks, except the CHP! Bad Bridges? or Holiday savings account? No ticket here, just observation and slow driving.

Comments:
The speed on freeway construction zones is always reduced to 55 miles per hour even if there are no workers on the cite or in the area at the time. The lanes are reduced in width fro 12 feet to 11 feet and there may not be any emergency shoulders in the construction zone. You may be driving in between K-railing. Construction workers and heavy trucks could be entering the area or leaving at any time. They do not set their clocks to your schedule. The CHP are on the job 24/7 and trust me they are not waisting their time with someone going 10 MPH over the speed limit. There are too many 80 plus MPH's out there.
