Interstate 40 near Mile Marker 166 thru 181

Albuquerque, New MexicoFeb 18, 20081 Comments

I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Every type of technique is used: spotters on bridges & cranes, parked vehicles with cameras, patrol units under on ramps, behind concrete barriers, on overpasses, around curves, behind hedges, etc. Three agencies are involved city police, state police & Bernalillo Co.Sheriff all at the same time or individually. The Bernalillo Co. Sheriffs are by far the most aggressive constantly employing new and innovative tactics!

Comments:
Mostly those speed traps are located westbound as you pass the peak at Sedillo Hill. The speed limit has decreased from 75 to 65 and going downhill, your vehicle can easily exceed 5 miles over without a problem. Shift down into a lower gear or be prepared to use your brakes a lot. Be certain to watch your speed here...seen MANY people stopped in this area.
