Interstate 435 near Between State Line and Roe Avenue
The city of Leawood covers about one mile of I-435 on the southside of Kansas City. The city limits cover East and Westbound I-435 between State Line and Roe Ave. The Leawood police frequently park in the median or the far right shoulder, open the driver door (or use motorcycles), and shoot Laser at on-coming traffic. Posted speed is 65mph but typical traffic is at 70mph. Anything over 72mph will bring you a ticket. Just slow down during this mile stretch. On the other side is Overland Park. On occasion you’ll see police here but not as often as Leawood.
