Interstate 49 near Mile Marker 27.5

Opelousas, LouisianaDec 27, 20032 Comments

Ka Band-Instant on. Officer Guillory,a La. State Trooper, sits well hidden from south bound traffic. As the north bound road turns to the left, he is concealed behind the bridge at the 27 1/2 mile marker. The speed limit is 65.

Comments:
Yes, this is DEFINATELY a speedtrap. The F'er got me going 78 in what I thought was a 70, but as it turns out the corrupt little town of Opelousas that used to FEED on people before 49 opened up must have had it lowered to 65mph there. I called the prosecutor when I got back to my state of residence and got it reduced to a non-moving violation for a discounted fine. Still pisses me off that we have to suffer such tyranny and theft.

I got one about the same place but heading north on 49. I am U. S. Army and was heading to Fort Polk. I was in my Pickup truck with 8 empty M-16 weapons racks. I was in Uniform and I had my Major with me. I was doing 78 and at the time it was a 70 zone. I was coming over a short hill and they had a Washington parish police that pulled me over. To me 8 miles over is not life or death. I just think he could have issued a warning.
