This ENTIRE area DEFINES "speed trap." It’s unbelievable. They cut the speed limit down to 65 from 70 for that 5(?) mile span for the sole purpose of raping people of their money. It’s not just southbound– I got a ticket for going 75 in a 65 two years ago when I was going north (2008). The idiot also went so far as to call backup and search my wallet and car without probable cause. I SHOULD have sued him. They scared the hell out of me– all for going 75 on the interstate near a tiny town. I didn’t have the time for a lawsuit at the time. Honest to god, this area should get statewide exposure for the rape zone that it is. EVERYONE should know.

I suggest these ways to not get caught speeding: 1) Leave earlier; 2) Fly a plane to your destination; 3) Let someone else drive; 4) Take the train or bus; 5) Take another route; 6) Just plain slow down!

I haven't checked this site since I posted this comment. It looks like the same 3 Yreka cops are voting down and commenting on people's experiences from their cop computers. Don't you guys have a busy schedule of picking on innocent people? Also, I'm sorry that it hurts you so much that you're getting heavily outvoted on this one. Better luck next time. Also, the next time you drag a young man out of his car because he "looks nervous" (the idiotic reason why you frisked and searched me) I'll be there in spirit, spitting on you idiots.
