Interstate 5 near State Highway 299
The northbound trap starts at the 299 East jct and the CHP love to sit on the onramps all the way to Shasta Lake. The South bound is just the opposite. These traps are especially heavy during the summer months around the Oasis
Rd ramps.

Not true. Speaking from 25 years of driving that part of the road. It is true that people tend to gather their speed in that long flat area.
