Interstate 64, 264, 164, 168

The 55 MPH speed limits on 64, 264, 164, and 168 in Chesapeake are a joke. Traffic on these roads routinely runs 65-70, yet the speed limit remains at 55? The speed limit on 664 (in Chesapeake/Suffolk) and 464 is 60, and traffic speeds are virtually the same as the other highways. (A little proof for all you revenue collectors that raising speed limits doesn’t cause people to drive faster.) Actually, seems to me cars are usually faster on these roads with 55 limits than the others.

You would think now that the cities in this region are seeing increased tax $$ with real estate values going through the roof they wouldn’t need to rely on speed traps to make money any more.

Comments:
It's all about collecting money. That's why they refuse to raise the limits. They raised part of it to 60 and think they're doing us a favor by doing that. Why can't it be 75 or 80? There's no reason for it not to be.
