Interstate 70 near Hanley Road

Berkeley, MissouriFeb 15, 20061 Comments

I have seen this speedtrap for the last 3 or 4 months. Going westbound Interstate 70, the Berkeley crusier will sit around blinding curve right after Hanley Road. The Berkeley police seem to sit on this stretch of westbound-eastbound traffic from the Hanley Road exit on Interstate 70 to the Lambert-St.Louis Airport exit. This stretch is usually in high enfornment during evening rush hour, friday nights, weekends and holidays. They want your money. Use Caution. Be Alert.

Comments:
I was driving from Az to Ma and trying to follow the traffic. I was driving exactly the same speed as the rest of the traffic. I started seeing cars being stopped -- at least 5 of them at a time-- but never imagined I would be one of them as I am generally a slower driver. But no, a hidden cruiser caught me, too. Gave me a ticket despite my out of state credentials. All adds up to a major speed trap for the innocent trying to get through St. Louis. And, a revenue stream for the town of Berkeley. As I will be traveling across the country again, I will avoid MO. They have lost my gas, motel and restaurant support. I will also look at this website to see if I can tell anything. But, judging from the old dates of these posts, most people are not aware of it.
