Interstate 70 near Mile Marker 92

Woodlawn, MarylandJan 12, 20062 Comments

On Interstate 70 eastbound between I-695 and the Security Blvd park and ride State Troopers and Baltimore County Police sit he quite common. The speed limit drops from 65 to 55 at mile 92. It then drops from 55 to 40 and 40 to 25. Very few warnings if any are written.

Comments:
Definitely a speed trap! I was pulled over this Tuesday and totally unaware the limit had dropped to 40. I know to slow as you near the Security Blvd exit and honestly believed I was way under 40 ... anyway I did not argue the point, was treated very politely and only given a WARNING (even though I couldn't find my registration right away- gave me a warning for that too). So always mind your manners, no matter what.

This is a speed trap because the driver has three choices, they are: 1. Slow down to exit onto Security Blvd. (plenty of notice and time). 2. Slow down to a stop for the Park and Ride. ( Straight ahead). 3. Crash! Into the woods and off the road in all cases. (straight ahead). The road is about 50-70 feet wide and the people that travel here do it nearly everyday so familiarity is obvious. Interestingly drag races are and have been held for years not a mile away with police knowledge. They have been there to watch! (local boys). Pigs
