Interstate 74 bridge over Mississippi.

The I-74 bridge heading either W or E has had lines painted on it allowing aircraft to time your speed. The speed limit is 50 in this area. Although aircraft enforcement here is rare and usually known about ahead of time, enforcement is very strict. 55 in this zone will get you a ticket, and it is an abrupt drop from 55 to 50 on the bridge.

Comments:
The only problem with this bridge being painted so as to allow the plane to check your speed limit,is that the law enforcement don't ticket off this bridge on either side. The speed limit from the Illinois side goes from 65mph down to 50mph on the bridge, and they drivers seem to think that 50 isn't fast enough,so by doing the speed limit, the other drivers almost push you across the bridge.Bettendorf Police Dept. was asked on TV,why tickets wasn't being issued, and the news media was told the cars are doing to fast to make a safe stop! Thus even with a radar gun on the walk bridge by Middle Road, they wasn't writing any tickets.Speed No! Safety,No.
