Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 32

Speed trap is in the middle of a work zone. The speed limit goes from 75, to 65, to 50. Radar is on over-pass, with several units STANDING in road pulling over traffic. Three cars at a time. Due to the work zone, fine DOUBLES! Mine was $280.00 for 71 in a 50. I made the 4 hour drive down to fight it, and was able to get the fine reduced to $180.00. It appears Cook County sees this work zone, as a great source of revenue.

Comments:
I drive this stretch of highway everyday from Hahira to Tifton, I have found first hand they are being sneaky on how they catch speeders. To keep their radar signatures down and not let people who have radar detectors know where they are they sit on or near an overpass and use points of reference with a stopwatch to estimate your speed. If you beat the time they have figured between points they will then race down on highway and shoot you with radar to verify your speed and give ticket. I almost got caught but have a CB radio in my vehicle and a trucker notified me as soon as I passed exit 41 of a cop coming down on ramp I pulled on my emegency brake lightly to slow down. as soon as I did my radar unit went off and he was right behind me but I was doing speed limit so he got off at next exit.

At or near MM39 in Cook County, Georgia, I was pulled over while I was in the turn lane to get off Interstate 75. At that time I was going about 45 mph. I was told I was doing 75 in a 50 mph zone and it was a construction zone. There were other cars passing by me, but somehow, he pulled me over. It was probably because I was driving a BMW. I am not even sure I was going 75 whenever he used the radar. I called the clerk's office to get the amount of my fine and was told it was $530! They have got a good thing going there in Adel, Georgia with that speed trap. So watch out for it when going through that area.

Cook County (Adel) and Tift County (Tifton) use I-75 as a means to generate income for their communities. I was pulled over while driving 65 mph driving south just past the main exit for Adel. There were cars blowing my doors off as they went by me, but on this day there were only two patrol cars. I have seen as many as 8 patrol cars handing out tickets in a 1\2 mile area near Tifton. There were two additional cars waiting to give out tickets. Drive 45 mph and wave and smile as you pass law enforcement! Don't give them your money!

No stop watches are used....its called a laser. One quick pull of the trigger and its has your speed. Radar/laser detectors are useless. Lasers also get you well in advance to you passing the officer. And it is no longer a work zone

I was around Mile Marker 32 and saw Adel, Ga Patrol car off to side of road. There was a car passing me in the far right passing lane that had to be going 30+ MPH than me. It was as if I was standing still. i saw the Emergency Lights come on and thought "they" had gotten that car for sure. I was surprised when the Police car pulled up behind me. I did have "Cruise" set at 5 MPG over speed limit. I always thought I was safe with that. I told the Officer she made a mistake. Deaf Ears. I was moving son to Ohio and lost ticket. I just knew it was a small town in Ga. Needless to say I got a "reminder" and with regrets paid the $378 fine. When I received the "Super Speeder" notice I thought it was a joke. It said I had to end of year to pay. Not!~ I was going to pay it the same day I got notice (12/29) my License in Ga was no good and now owe $50 reinstatement fee also. Wish I had pleaded case. Be careful they want your Money and the fines are real..Big!
