They will get you going East or West. In many cases you will see as much as 4 patrol cars working this area.

It's at exit 101 of I-90. Those who say it's not a speed trap don't know what they're talking about. The (Ellensburg) Daily Record even did a feature story about it just a few months ago. I've worked at the AM-PM station right there, got to know a couple of the cops who'd come in for coffee (no doughnuts, sorry to damage the image). My observation, and according to the newspaper, they hardly pay attention to the westbound traffic. Eastbound, it' a long downhill stretch after the mountains and drivers tend to get a little heavy in the right foot. I've seen four or often more cop cars lined up on the eastbound entry ramp, and business is good. The paper said they seldom catch locals there, because we all know about it. It's usually people from the "wet" side who get caught. For the sake of you who aren't local, that's also called the west side, on the other side of the Cascades, where gloomy, wet weather is the norm, compared to here where it's sunny much of the time. Maybe they're driving so fast because they're eager to get away from the Seattle climate! Can't blame them for that. There is a very slight curve in the roadway just past that exit, which limits visibility for eastbound drivers. That's perfect for the police, drivers can't see the police lights because of that curve. Mostly they're spotting via an airplane, but on the overpass, just above the eastbound lanes, there's a large shrub that just barely can hide a patrol car. I've seen a radar car hiding behind it, shooting west, towards the eastbound traffic.
