Interstate 94 near Moross Road

Harper Woods, MichiganApr 28, 20051 Comments

EB I-94, HWPD sits at the top of Moross entrance ramp, timing you after you pass the bottom of the ramp (in the regular lanes of travel). They literally sit on the Detroit/Harper Woods city limits, waitng for you to enter their town at the prevailing 70 MPH on the freeway. Posted limit is 55, and there are NO warning tickets — if you get stopped, you will get a ticket.

Comments:
Yes this is true. The funny thing is that when you are leaving DETROIT going eastbound you are leaving a 70 mph zone, right upon entering HARPER WOODS, the speed limit is 55 mph, but THERE ARE NO SIGNS! Myself and my husband were discussing how it changes when driving and we were looking for a sign (Harper Woods is just 1 mile long on that stretch... we looked and looked... NOT ONE SIGN! All the residents of Detroit who don't know this travel into HARPER WOODS and get ticketed because Harper Woods intentially does not post the speed limit! What a crock!
