Interstate 95 near Mile Marker 39824

Greensville, VirginiaAug 08, 20061 Comments

Both lanes of I-95 from the NC / VA border to Exit 11a/b. I drive this road daily all times of day. Highway Patrol and County Sheriff will sit in median between lanes at the 2 mile and the 5 mile markers. Will pull for 4-5 mph above limit. Also see them sitting at rest area on VA side watching as traffic slows from 70 in NC to 65 in VA. Once you reach the 8 mi. marker you enter the City of Emporia where you have to deal with the city police, who have a nice spot picked at the 10 mile marker. Its a bend in the road and they always sit on the northbound side off the road. You can’t see them until you come around the bend and they will stop you there for 4-5 mph over the limit.

Comments:
A friend of mine was a substitute judge in Emporia and stated the town would go bankrupt if the town police were not allowed on I-95. Town cops are paid overtime to work speedtraps on the interstate and annually bring millions into the town cofers. Drivers Beware!!!! From the Greensville County line all the way through Emporia to the N.C. line, You will generally find revenue producers at every cut through...
