Interstate I-40 Business East near US Highway 52

Mostly motorcycle cop sitting at the enterance/exit ramp to Hwy 52 catches you when you pop over the little hill just past main street. Or patrol car sitting off the side of the road right before you get to MLK exit.

Comments:
I was on 40, got off on 52 south. the limit on 40 is 65 in that section. Hwy 52 is 65 all the way up till 40. I didn't know that until I popped over the hill and saw the 55 mph sign. The cop was about 100-200yds behind the sign. His brake lights went on, followed by a quick flash of reverse lights. At that point I knew what was up. He wrote me up for 68 in a 55 (In a 65 zone, this is NOT speeding, right?). No break. I didn't plead my case because he said "We've got a program on this stretch..." which told me that they were looking for prople rolling off 40 thinking it was 65. After the ticket, I rolled on and the speed limit went up to 65 in under 2 miles. I know this because I drove the same stretch a few weeks later. It's all about making money for the county. Watch out. they're broke and that's a good reason for stopping everyone-$130 court cost, $30 fine. Another $75 for a lawyer if you go that route. It makes me cranky-I DON"T SPEED and I got busted.

Actually the speed limit on 52 drops to 55 atleast a mile before you get to the I-40 interchange. It does not jump back to 65 again until you get up around Rural Hall.
