Interstate I-5 Castle Rock Exit 48 + 2 miles south

Castle Rock, WashingtonAug 18, 20130 Comments

Southbound interstate I-5. White Crown Vic on the bridge deck of exit 46 and a second car 0.3 miles after bridge in left side median before beginning of continuous guardrail. Landmarks are road sign "Kelso 10 miles" and the interstate makes hard bend to the right followed by a blind hilltop and a long straight line with a bridge over interstate seen in the distance. Immediately after bridge there is a 2nd but much shallower hilltop. After the bridge the left lane drivers may worry about elk or deer suddenly jumping out of the woods of the median but the surprise is a parked car. Observed 11 am on a Saturday morning. The rough bend to right and the 1st hilltop cooks up a mixture of tardiness and timid driving in the southbound I-5 traffic which some drivers attempts to untangle just before exit 46. Middle and left lane are safer bets. The bridge deck has 2 feet high concrete blocks which conceals the 1st car fairly well. White Vic is parked at the very beginning of the bridge to avoid being too obviously positioned smack middle on top of the interstate southbound lanes. Rather positioned to the very far left. Could easily go for an abandoned car. First car is radio and visual assessment only.
