Interstate I-77 North near Cherry Road

Rock Hill, South CarolinaSep 26, 20070 Comments

Going North bound on I-77, the large overpass before Cherry Road has a speed limit sign on a support structure. A gap in the road separators is created below this, and it gives enough room for a State Patrol to back-into this position and shoot up towards the hill. Typically the State Patrol will wait till the driver the wish to go after has made it to or over the hill, and race towards them to stop them about 1 mile before the Sutton Road exit.

This area is a very dangerous area because going North I-77 goes from 70 to 60. This feels like a crawl and most people keep their speed and stay in the left 2 lanes.

Watch for this overpass, I travel this interstate very often and have seen them camping there.
