Interstate I-95 near Mile Marker 48

Darien, GeorgiaOct 18, 20087 Comments

City of Darien officers just love this area, even though it is technically not within their jurisdiction. It has been a non stop construction zone for years, and if you do travel the posted 60, you will be rear ended or just flattened.

Comments:
it is their juristiction. city limits have been moved. altamaha bridge is new city limits.

especially when they have an unmarked car up your tail and forcing you to increase speed in order to switch lanes to get out of their way...then the cop on the median gets you on radar for speeding...What a set up...

I am a Florida driver that just got popped for 16 mph over while being passed by countless Georgia drivers during early morning rush hour in this "construction" zone that went on for miles and miles and miles with no workers or vehicles present. I am 100% certain that I was targeted because of my out of state plates. This state has really gotten quite a return on those orange pylons that line the highway!

We went to court in darien, ga., today. It is as crooked as the day is long. In every case, the defendants were badgered and insulted. The Judge and the Chief of Police are father and son. The Prosecutor snickers, insults, and creates hostility toward the accused. Some very valid defenses were brought up and the Judge twists up every word until he can rationalize even the most crooked accusations. Everyone is guilty until proven innocent. All day long everyone got the maximum fines and sentencing (which is unheard of). I wish a vice squad from Atlanta would sit in on their courtroom. A conservative estimate of their profits would be $8000 a day. They slap on extra fines and threats if you suggest an appeal.

This is true about the chief of police and the judge...The chief doesn't care about nothing at all...I have reported abuse of power to him...His officers seem to think that they can do whatever they want when they want...watch out for them late at night pulling out of the police departmen parking lot they have pulled out in front of me with out even slowing down to make sure it was safe for them to leave the lot....DID THEY NOT LEARN ANYTHING WHEN OFFICER BAIN GOT SLAMMED AFTER PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF A DUMP TRUCK OR SOME SORT OF HEAVY DUTY TRUCK!!! I will be going to the G.B.I. about their driving since no one will do anything about it.

I am from Pa. was pacing the traffic in the center lane, got pulled over and ticketed for 16 over, found out later from a retired State trooper that out of state drivers are ticketed due to they dont normally fight the citation. I guess the pod on top of my van was the tip off.
