Interstate Rt 17 Future I86 near Exit Number 84

From the time you get on Rt 17 east at the Rt 17 I81 spit, there are too many speed traps to count. I have driven that stretch of highway from Liberty, NY to Jamestown, NY from the time I had a my licence in 1966.

At one time Deposit was listed as the #2 radar trap (Valdosta, Ga was #1).

At every blind corner, crossover, dip and hill in the road there can be radar. The speed limit is 55 MPH most of the treck from Binghamton east. It’s acutally quicker to go I81 south to Scranton, then take I84 east to Middletown, NY as the speed limit on these roads is 65 mph (and traffic usually travels at 72 mph without any problems(and the price of gas is $.25 cheaper along the way too!)

Comments:
I live in that area and am amazed at this comment. That entire stretch from Broome County to the Sullivan County line is safe to drive at 70 mph weather in the 55 or 65 mph zone. So the comment was added by one who would rather travel at a speed over 70 mph. If they are sitting in the center median's and other locations that can be seen, HOW can one call it a speed trap? he cheaper gas is the one true statement of the post!
