The speed limit in this area is 40 mph. The area you're speaking of is the school zone. And yes, the speed limit during school zone hours is reduced - to 20, not 25. Which may explain why you would have received a ticket there. I see the police stop speeders on a daily basis every morning and afternoon while the school zone speed is enforced.
